Farana to help sick and orphaned in Zanzibar.

Farana Latif, from Dundee, a final year physiotherapy student at Glasgow Caledonian University, is travelling to Zanzibar during the summer to work with the sick.  Farana will spend any spare time in the local orphanage helping the children there.

Farana has chosen Mnazi Mmoja Hospital in Stone Town as her elective placement. This hospital specialises in burns victims and amputees and she has had to raise the funds herself for the trip.  Our contribution of 500 enables her to purchase the medical supplies for her patients during the trip as well as supplies such as clothing and medicine, toys and books for her work in the orphanage, enabling her "to hopefully make a meaningful difference to peoples lives in Zanzibar".
We look forward to an update from Farana on her return and wish her all best wishes for July.
